March Update: A New Release on the Horizon

March always feels like a turning point. The days stretch a little longer. The air warms just enough to hint that winter is finally loosening its grip. And for me, this March brings something especially exciting.

On March 19th, my newest romantic suspense, What Lies Between Us, releases into the world.

Finishing a book is always a strange mix of emotions—relief, excitement, nerves, and a little disbelief that the story that once lived only in my head is about to belong to readers. Every book has its own journey, and this one was no exception.

For those who’ve been following the series, you’ve already met Gabriella Flores and Rhys Langston.

Gaby is brave in ways she doesn’t always recognize, driven by one powerful goal: finding her sister. She walks into dangerous places because she refuses to give up on someone she loves.

Rhys, on the other hand, is a man built on control and precision. Trust doesn’t come easily to him—and for very good reasons. But sometimes the person who challenges your carefully built walls is the one who changes everything.

Put them together undercover in a world built on secrets, power, and dangerous appetites, and sparks are inevitable. This story has it all: high-stakes investigation, forced proximity, dangerous enemies… and a romance that neither of them planned. But some connections refuse to be ignored.

What Lies Between Us might be the most intense book I’ve written in this series so far. It’s emotional, suspenseful, and yes—very spicy. Rhys and Gaby push each other in ways that force them both to confront old wounds and difficult truths. And through it all, one question hangs between them. What happens when the one person you shouldn’t fall for becomes the only person you trust?

Like many stories in the romantic suspense genre, What Lies Between Us touches on themes that exist in the real world. In this case, the investigation at the center of the book involves human trafficking—a topic that has, unfortunately, become more visible in recent headlines over the past few years.

Readers may notice that the trafficking subplot feels especially current. I actually began writing this series in 2020, long before the issue dominated the news cycle the way it does today. Sadly, the reality behind the story has existed for far too long.

While this book deals with difficult subject matter, the heart of the story is about resilience, justice, and the determination to bring the missing home. That said, some scenes and themes may feel intense for sensitive readers, and I encourage you to read what feels right for you.
